BASTIAN, William -----better known as “William
McAllister,” died at his home near Blue lake, Spencer
Brook, on Thursday morning at 2:30. For a good many
years he had been an invalid and death came as a blessed
relief to his sufferings. Death was the result of
rheumatism and cancer. The funeral was held at the
family residence on Saturday, Rev. Fisher of the
Congregational church, Princeton, conducting the
services. William Bastain was born in Pennsylvania in
1854. When a young boy he came to Minnesota with his
parents. On
July 4, 1888. he was married to Belle Spencer, and after
a short residence in Minneapolis went to Spencer Brook
and settled on the farm where he lived until the time of
his death. He is survived by his wife and two sons,
James and William. In the death of “Will McAllister” the
community loses a good citizen. The sympathy of
the friends and neighbors goes forth to the family in
their hour of sorrow. The Princeton Union
